Sam D’Arcy-Darling

Sam is an experienced public policy practitioner, community organiser, and equalities advocate with over 12 years of experience working in the public sector across two countries.

Sam has a passion for education, believing it is an essential building block for the pursuit of all other aspects of life. He strongly believes in both formal and informal education. Having previously worked as a consultant in the education sector and as a School Governor, Sam’s journey through education was unique. Choosing to end structured secondary education at the age of 14, Sam eventually earned a BSc in Political Science and Interdisciplinary Leadership Studies in 2018. He is currently studying for a MSc in Public Policy at the University of Reading.

Sam has previously worked for the US House of Representatives, Michigan Department of Education, several LGBTQ+ and Public Health charities, and currently works for Transport for London. He has held partisan and non-partisan civil and political appointments in the United States and the United Kingdom. Sam is a member of the Transport Salaried Staffs Association (TSSA) and is trusted by his colleagues as an Industrial Relations & Health and Safety Representative.

Sam’s professional interests include the comparative study of the American and British political systems and institutions, Education Policy, the practical application of Equality legislation, and Transport Policy.

In his free time, Sam is an active member of his community. He enjoys hanging out with his cat, Iris, and playing strategy-based video games. He finds time regularly to enjoy meditation and walks at Kew Gardens when the weather permits. Sam also loves a good cup of decaffeinated coffee.
